Erb Mon Interview – 9- 11-2021
1- How do you define yourself? How do you define your projects?
2- How did you start working on street art?
I wrote with encrypted languages on the walls in an illegal way, I was very influenced by Futurism and I liked to paint in the midst of destruction, of the abandoned.
3- Where do you find the inspiration to create your projects? Are they modifiers of urban space?
The urban space does not interest me especially, of course the location where you paint is important, but what really interests me is to answer the figurative. We are obsessed with our image, we want to see and symbolize the world from the known or from television fantasy, cinematographic. My work is an antithesis to all this.
4- What does Street Art represent for you in this constantly changing world?
I do not recognize my works in the label «Street art», I am a painter, I paint on canvas, paper, wood, wall … I hardly paint. Perhaps at some point in my career I could be framed within this concept, but not for a long time. I think that Street art has changed a lot in the last six years, today it may lack the rebellion that made it attractive in its day, I don’t pay attention to it.
It is difficult for me to analyze the mural object, I find the work more interesting as a synthesis of a vital action.
5- Do you think Street Art should be legal or should it continue to be a form of art pursued by the police? Have you ever had problems?
I never had problems, I always set up very well planned actions so that this did not happen. Today Street art is both, and I think it is impossible to place it in just one of the options, each of them has a different function, like entering galleries and museums or advertising. Urban art is too diversified to be framed in just one way of carrying it out.
6- How long does it usually take to prepare each project?
TAKE A LOOK TO THE WHOLE WORK THAT HE DOES, IT’S COOL, ESPECIALLY
